“Iran is run from something like a mafia, not a government,” said US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, referring to what he described as “gross riches and corruption among Iran’s leaders.”
“The richness and corruption of Iran’s leaders is proof that Iran is run by a mafia, not a government,” Pompeo said during an Iranian opposition conference in California. “Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani and Foreign Minister Zarif are just two bright fronts at the international level for the mullahs’ deception.
Bombayo, speaking to an audience in California, mostly composed of Americans of Iranian descent,saying that “it is up to the Iranians to determine the course of the country and that Washington” will support the voice of the Iranian people, which has been ignored for a long time.
He said the US government would launch a 24-hour Persian-language television and radio station instead of digital and social media tools to reach Iranians in Iran and around the world.
