Iran threatens Kurdistan with military operations

A few days after the killing of a number of elements of the Iranian mobilization forces on the Iraqi border, Iranian officials warned of the possibility of the entry of their troops, if the Iraqi authorities did not take the necessary measures to reduce the attacks on Iran, as they put it.

An Iranian security official said his country would take on the search for fighters of the Kurdish parties armed against the Iranian regime within the borders of neighboring countries, in reference to the territory of Iraq, if not put an end to those parties opposed to Tehran.

Iran’s deputy interior minister for security affairs, Hussein Zolfaqari, warned the authorities in the Kurdistan region of Iraq earlier to provide the right ground for Kurdish opposition parties from their border regions to hold strongholds.

The warning comes after the killing of eleven members of the Revolutionary Guards and popular mobilization during armed clashes with armed groups in the city “Mariwan” border with the Kurdistan region.

According to local media, if the countries in which terrorists are stationed do not face their activities in border areas, it is Iran that will bomb their bases at the border point.

“These terrorist groups are present in some neighboring countries. We have told these countries that they have to confront them themselves. If they do not, Iran will have to strike at its headquarters,” Hussein Zolfaqari said in reference to the Kurdistan region.

The Iranian escalation coincides with the Turkish military incursion into the territory of Kurdistan to hit the PKK, which opposes the Turkish government.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan earlier threatened to end what he called the stronghold of terrorism in Sinjar.

The Kurdistan Regional Government, for its part, has repeatedly declared its refusal to take its territory as a platform for the exposure of neighboring countries, to maintain security in the settlement.

The Kurdish parties opposed to the Iranian regime, which have been concentrated in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, have seen their strongholds assassinations and bombings targeting its officials based in Erbil, during the last few years of the Iranian bloodly regime.
