Report: Demonstration in Baneh Met With Brutal Violence

Residents of the Kurdish city of Baneh in eastern (Iranian) Kurdistan staged a peaceful demonstration to condemn the murder of two Kurdish Kolbars (porters) by Iranian security forces. The peaceful demonstration was met by brutal violence and several peaceful demonstrators were severely injured and an unknown number of people were arrested.

Iran deployed its terrorist Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to the city, who immediately began using brutal force against the local population. At least ten peaceful demonstrators were shot and severely injured according to local reports.

Three peaceful demonstrators who have been arrested have been identified, their names are Kordo Husseinpoor, Jalal Sawan and Ahmed Shafeei.

Iran’s IRGC deployed thousands of troops to Baneh and effectively imposed martial law in the city.

Every year Iranian security forces kill tens of Kurdish Kolbars.
