Statement by operational command of the peshmerga forces: new clashes in mariwan
The Operational Command of PDKI’s Peshmerga Forces released a statement on the clashes in Mariwan during the past two days. The clashes are still raging. Scores of Iranian soldiers have been killed and the bodies of 8 members of Iran’s terrorist Islamic Guards (IRGC) are in the hands of PDKI’s Peshmerga Forces. Unfortunately, three brave Peshmergas have been martyred in the clashes outside Mariwan during the past two days.
PDKI’s Peshmerga Forces were in the Mariwan region to carry out political missions.
The Peshmerga Forces came under heavy fire at 04:00 AM on June 25 in the village of Dorow. The village is located in the Sawlawa region of Mariwan. Following a heroic battle that lasted for two hours, and in which a number of Iranian soldiers were killed, PDKI’s Peshmerga Forces managed to break through the enemy lines. Unfortunately, Shoresh Minbari and Shaxawan Minbari, two brave Peshmergas, were martyred in the clashes in Dorow.
Shaxawan Minbari was injured in the ambush by the terrorists of IRGC, but he fought bravely for hours before being martyred.
Later in the day on June 25, PDKI’s Peshmerga Forces were once again ambushed in the mountains of Kosalan in the Mariwan region. The Peshmergas managed to break the enemy lines in Kosalan as well. While the Peshmergas did not suffer any casualties, a number of Iranian soldiers were killed.
The clashes erupted again early in the morning today, June 26. The clashes have continued since then and scores of Iranian soldiers have been killed. The bodies of 8 members of the IRGC are in the hands of PDKI’s Peshmerga Forces. Unfortunately, a third Peshmerga, Akbar Minbari, was martyred today.
Since yesterday, when the clashes began, the Iranian military has been shelling Sawlawa and Kosalan. Iranian shelling has destroyed villages. Forests and hillsides have been set on fire as a result of heavy Iranian shelling.
