On March 1, 2018, the Iranian regime carried out a terrorist attack against two members of PDKI in Hawler (Erbil), the capital of Iraqi Kurdistan. Unfortunately, one of the victims, 33-year-old Sabah Rahmani, died yesterday.
The latest Iranian terrorist attack against PDKI comes shortly after PDKI successfully held its 16th Congress. Through threats and intimidation, the Iranian regime tried to prevent the congress from taking place. Iran also tried to carry out terrorist attacks against the delegates of the congress, but all the Iranian plans were foiled by PDKI’s security forces.
Sabah Rahmani’s father, Salah Rahmani, was also injured in the attack. In spite of his injuries, he attended his son’s funeral.
“I have lost one of my sons; I have three more sons and they will all sacrifice themselves for our struggle and the liberation of the Kurdish nation,” the elder Rahmani said at the funeral.
“I vow to avenge the death of my son, and the Iranian regime should know this,” he averred.
The deputy leader of PDKI, Hassan Sharafi, also attended the funeral and gave a speech, in which he emphasized that no terrorist attack by Iran is going to stop PDKI from continuing the struggle for the liberation of the Kurdish people.
